Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana:- A new scheme has been started by the Rajasthan government to increase the income of farmers. Whose name is the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme (SKAY). Under this scheme, farmers can earn good money by installing solar plants on their barren and unusable land. Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana to set up solar power plants in Rajasthan was launched in the state on 17 October 2022 by Energy Minister Bhavan Singh Bhati. The state government has prepared a portal to connect with the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme. Where farmers can register themselves upload their documents and contribute. Apart from this, one can also connect with developers setting up solar energy plants.

Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana (SKAY) 2024
To promote decentralized solar power plants, the Government of Rajasthan has launched the Solar Energy Livelihood Scheme or “SKAY” scheme. Under Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana, the government will take barren/unusable land of farmers on lease and install solar power plants on it. The government will pay rent on the barren unused land of farmers. Farmers can earn good money by installing solar plants on their barren and unusable land. Farmers can earn additional income through this scheme.
Farmers will get the opportunity to earn money along with electricity for irrigation. For which a portal (www.skayrajasthan.org.in) has been developed for the convenience of agricultural livelihood scheme farmers and developers. Interested farmers of the state can register on this portal to give their barren/unusable land on lease. Developers can view the land details given by the farmers on the portal.
The objective of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana
The main objective of launching the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme is to utilize the abundant land resources of the State by allowing farmers to lease/rent barren land on a pre-determined amount for setting up solar power plants. Rajasthan Discoms has developed an online portal. Through this portal, farmers can register to lease their land for setting up a power plant. Developers of solar power plants can also register to reach the registered farmers. Due to which farmers will get benefits. And their income will increase.
The electricity produced from the solar power plant to be established under this scheme will be available only to the people of the surrounding area and they will be able to get sufficient electricity for agricultural work during the day. The barren land of farmers can be put to good use.
Main points of Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana
> To avail of the benefits of the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme, farmers and developers must register on the official website.
> Landowners, farmers, groups of farmers, registered cooperative societies, organizations, and union institutions can also join the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme.
> Any farmer or land owner in the state can register to lease/rent land of at least 1 hectare.
> The distance of registered barren unusable land should be within a radius of 5 kilometers of the substation.
> According to the rules of this scheme, land owners or farmers will have to get a proper power of attorney done in favor of a nominated person. Because to register on the portal, power of attorney will have to be uploaded.
> To apply applicants have to pay a non-refundable registration fee online.

Eligibility for Saur Krishi Aajeevika Yojana

> Developers of solar power plants will be eligible for the Solar Agriculture Livelihood Scheme.
