The R D Sethna Loan Scholarship 2025 is an opportunity provided by the R D Sethna Scholarship Fund to Indian students pursuing higher education. These scholarships are investments in young citizens, empowering them to pursue their academic and professional goals. Loan scholarships are awarded based on meritorious performance to help students pay for tuition, academic materials, and other relevant expenses that would improve their educational experience. Selected candidates will receive a scholarship loan at an interest rate of 2% per annum.
Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
Apply Online:
- be a citizen of India
- have completed their school-level studies
- have secured admission to a recognised institution for pursuing undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral degree
- have paid the course fee deposit OR
- have paid the remaining course fee fully or partially
Note:- Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in General Engineering or a Master of Science in Engineering at the University of Denmark are eligible to apply for this scholarship. For more information, kindly refer to the ‘RDSSF / DTU Press Release’ document.
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive financial aid in the form of an interest-bearing scholarship loan. The interest rate is 2% per annum, compounded annually. The amount awarded will be determined based on an assessment of each applicant’s needs and qualifications.

Note:
- All submitted documents must be self-certified as true copies.
- All application documents must be submitted electronically with the online application form. No documents should be mailed.
How can you apply?
Eligible applicants can follow these steps to apply:-
Step 1: Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button below.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register’ button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to ‘Register’ (Note:- If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.)
Step 3: Read all the instructions carefully.
Step 4: Click on ‘Pay Application Fee’ and pay an amount of ₹50 through the payment gateway (Note:- If already paid, proceed to fill out the application form.)
Step 5: Click on ‘Fill Application Form’ and enter all the details, upload all the necessary documents, and then submit the application.
Note:- Candidates requesting forms by mail must send a self-addressed envelope (size: 23 cm x 10 cm) with ₹10 postage affixed. The Trust office address is located in the Contact Details section of this page.
Important Dates
Application Deadline: 31st August 2025
Note:- Duly completed Application Forms should reach the Trust Office no later than 31st July for studies overseas and by 31st August each year for studies in India.
Selection Criteria
Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship is awarded for one year only. Students interested in multi-year funding need to reapply annually.
- Scholarships are not awarded retroactively for past studies, financial aid, or based on offer letters.
- Applicants are responsible for the postage of scholarship loan documentation.
- Applicants are required to have a life insurance policy in their name, with the premium paid through R.D. Sethna’s insurance agents.
- Applicants with existing bank loans must disclose them and upload the sanction letter with the application.
- If the applicant is applying for a bank loan, they must disclose it and upload a loan approval letter along with the application form. In addition to the application form, please upload the following documents for your parents and siblings:
- Aadhaar Card and Electricity Bill: Upload these as a single multi-page PDF document. (accepted formats: .pdf, .jpg)
- PAN Card and Income Tax Returns: Upload each of these documents as separate PDF files. (accepted formats: .pdf)
Scholarship Disclosure
- Applicants must disclose any scholarships they have applied for or been awarded. If awarded a scholarship, documentary evidence (e.g., sanction letter, bank statement) is required.
- Applicants with prior work experience must upload a relieving letter mentioning their start and end dates of employment.
- Currently employed applicants should upload a relieving letter. If unavailable, an appointment letter and the latest salary slip/certificate are acceptable substitutes. If possible, a Letter of Recommendation (LoR) from a current or past employer can be uploaded to strengthen the application.
Guarantor
- Applicants must have at least 1 guarantor, to be eligible for the scholarship loan.
- The guarantor needs to be an Indian citizen.
- The guarantor must be less than 70 years of age.
- Guarantor must be a resident of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, or Thane as verified by their Aadhaar Card and a recent utility bill. Accepted locations include:
- Mumbai: Churchgate area up to and including Dahanu Road
- Navi Mumbai: Nerul area up to and including Uran City
- Thane municipality: Thane city, Kasara, Khopoli, Vasai, Diva, and Panvel
- The guarantor must meet the income tax eligibility criteria outlined on the website.
- Upload the guarantor’s latest utility bill (landline, water, electricity, or rent receipt) as proof of residence.
- In addition to the utility bill, upload the guarantor’s Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and Income Tax Return.
