PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2024
PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a central sector scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The scheme encourages artisans and craftsmen to access affordable skill training modern equipment and digital transactions. Apart from this, a certificate is also given on completion of skill training. 18 businesses have been included under this scheme by the Government of India. A budget of Rs 13,000 crore has been set by the government for the operation of Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. So that financial help can be provided to more and more artisans and craftsmen who work on traditional equipment with their own hands or tools.

The objective of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme
The main objective of launching PM Vishwakarma Yojana by the Central Government is to comprehensively improve the condition of the craftsmen of the country. So that their contribution to the progress of the country can be given importance and their economic condition can improve. Therefore, the government provides financial assistance to artisans and craftsmen who work with hands or tools.
Benefits under PM Vishwakarma Yojana
Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the following types of benefits are given to artisan craftsmen.
Skill Training – Under this scheme, the beneficiary is given skill training to start employment, along with this, Rs 500 per day is given during the training. This training is given for 15 days or more.
Toolkit Incentive – Under this scheme, Rs 15,000 is given to the beneficiaries in the form of an e-voucher at the beginning of basic skills training with which they can purchase toolkits.
Loan assistance – Under PM Vishwakarma Yojana, cheap loans are also provided to artisans. So that the beneficiary can start his employment. Under this, a provision has been made to give loans up to Rs 3 lakh to artisans and craftsmen without guarantee, in which first Rs 1 lakh and then Rs 2 lakh are provided in two installments for 18 months and 30 months, which are 5. It is given by the Government of India at an interest rate of 8% and with a discount to the extent of 8%.
Digital Incentive – Under this scheme, an amount of Re 1 per digital transaction for each digital payment or receipt will be credited to the beneficiary’s bank account up to a maximum of 10 transactions monthly.
Certificate – The beneficiary is given free training to start employment after which the craftsmen or artisans are provided a unique identity with PM Vishwakarma Certificate ID Card.

Eligibility for PM Vishwakarma Yojana
> The applicant must be a citizen of India.
> To avail of the benefits of this scheme, the age of the applicant should be above 18 years.
> Artisans or craftsmen engaged in traditional occupations can avail the benefits of this scheme.
> Only one member of the family can avail the benefit of this scheme.
> Government employees and their family members will not be eligible for this scheme.
