Prime Minister Rural Housing Scheme 2024
Under this scheme, the Central Government is providing financial assistance to the weaker sections of the rural areas to build their own permanent houses and the government is also providing financial assistance in making the old houses permanent. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, the Central Government is providing financial assistance of Rs 120,000 to economically weak families in rural areas for constructing houses in plain areas and Rs 130,000 for constructing houses in hilly areas.

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana List: Selection of beneficiary
> Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will be selected/determined based on parameters showing housing shortage in SECC 2011 data and then it will be validated by the Gram Sabha.
> Under the housing scheme list, those beneficiaries will be selected instead of the BPL list, as per SECC 2011 data, they will be homeless families or those living in houses with one or two kutcha walls and kutcha roofs.
> Among the eligible beneficiaries, priority will be given first based on homeless families and one or 2 kutcha rooms from each category like Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Minority, and others.
> Under this scheme, priority will not be given to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Caste, Minority, or families of each such category having houses having more than 1 or 2 rooms.

> Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana can get loans up to ₹ 70000 under this scheme.
> Subsidy on interest will also be provided to the beneficiaries of this loan.
> Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana has been linked with other social welfare schemes such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Ujjwala Yojana, etc.
> While constructing houses, the applicant will have to keep in mind the social, economic, and geo-climatic conditions and local materials that will be used in the construction.
> The minimum area under the Gramin Awas Yojana is 25 square feet. All basic services including the kitchen are included in this area.
> Unit assistance for plain areas has been increased from Rs 70000 to Rs 120000.
> The unit assistance for hilly areas has been increased from ₹75000 to ₹130000.
> This permanent assistance will be borne by the Central Government and the State Government. In plain areas, the ratio of Central and State Governments will be 60:40, and in hilly areas, the ratio of Central and State governments will be 90:10.
Eligibility for PM Gramin Awas Yojana 2024
> The applicant should not have a permanent house.
> The annual income of the family should be Rs.1800000 or less.
> The applicant should not already be availing of the benefits of any housing scheme.
> Senior citizens and disabled people will be given priority for the ground floor.
> The construction of the house should be completed within 36 months of the first installment.
> The applicant does not pay any kind of tax.
> The applicant should not have a government job. If there is a government job then the income of the applicant should be ₹ 10000 or less.
> Under this scheme, cardholders of Kisan Credit Card will also be beneficiaries whose limit will be ₹ 50000 or more.
> The applicant should not own any motorized vehicle, agricultural equipment, or fishing boat.
> SC, ST, and minority categories can avail of the benefit of this scheme.
