Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme 2025-26 is an initiative by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. It targets students in the age group of 10 to 14 years. The scheme’s objective is to provide specialized training to talented children in various cultural fields. It places a special focus on rare art forms at risk of disappearing.
The selected scholars will receive ₹3,600 per year and a reimbursement of up to ₹9,000 per year towards the actual tuition fee.
Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be aged between 10-14 years
- be attending a recognised school or belonging to a family practising traditional performing arts
- have a monthly family income below ₹8,000
Benefits
Selected candidates will receive an annual stipend of ₹3,600 and reimbursement of up to ₹9,000 per year for tuition fees paid to the institution/guru/teacher for specialised training.
Note:- Scholarship payments will be made directly to the authorised parent/guardian’s bank account via the PFMS portal. The parent/guardian is responsible for using these funds to pay the approved tuition fee to the Guru/teacher and submitting signed payment receipts from both the parent/guardian and the Guru/teacher.

Terms and Conditions
- A maximum of 3 students from the same Guru or Institution will be considered for scholarships at a time.
- Applicants can apply in only one art form. The scheme allows for only one scholarship per applicant. Applications from those applying in more than one art form will be rejected immediately.
- Applicants applying under the Tribal Culture/Scheduled Tribe (ST), Differently Abled Children, or Traditional Artists Family (TAF) categories must attach the following documents:
- A self-attested photocopy of a valid Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate issued by a competent authority
- A self-attested photocopy of a Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority
- A duly signed document on a separate sheet of paper providing details of at least three generations of the applicant’s family and their contributions to any art form.
- If, after the scholarship begins, a change of Guru/teacher becomes necessary due to unavoidable circumstances, the applicant must obtain prior approval from the CCRT. This requires submitting a new Guru/teacher using the prescribed Joining Report Proforma and justifying the reason(s) for the change.
- Scholarship holders who discontinue their training before the scholarship period ends without prior permission and proper justification from the CCRT risk having their scholarship cancelled immediately. In such cases, the CCRT will not issue the certificate upon completion of the scholarship.
- During the tenure of the CTSS Scholarship Scheme, scholarship holders cannot receive any other scholarship or stipend for the same art form without prior approval from the CCRT.
- The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme awards scholarships without quotas based on state or union territory.
- All disputes and complaints, including court cases, related to the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme will be under the sole jurisdiction of the Delhi High Court.
- The CCRT reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions of the Scheme at any time, as deemed necessary to fulfil its objectives.
- Applicants applying in Creative Writing/Literary Arts must submit 3 original works (such as poems, stories, prose, plays, essays, etc.) certified by the Principal/Headmaster of their respective schools. These compositions can be in any language recognised by the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India, including English.
- Applicants applying for Painting must submit three 3 original paintings. Applicants in Crafts, Sculpture, etc., should submit three 3 photographs of their latest original art objects, certified by their Guru/Teacher on the backside or a separate plain paper, confirming these are the applicant’s sole work and not aided by others. Note that photographs of paintings will not be considered.
- Applicants applying in Performing Arts must submit a certificate containing details of their training to date, duly certified by their Guru, and three postcard-sized photographs taken during performance or training.
- Incomplete applications, applications in old formats, or applications missing required documents or art specimens will be rejected immediately and will not be considered by the Central Selection Committee.
- Applicants currently receiving any scholarship/stipend from CCRT or another institution for the same art form cannot apply for this scholarship, whether for a new award or an extension of a previous CCRT scholarship.
- CRT will not be responsible for postal delays or applications not received due to other reasons. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
- Only applicants recommended for an interview/test by the Central Selection Committee will be notified by post about the date, time, and venue. Additionally, their names and the interview/test schedule will be displayed on the CCRT website. Interviews/tests are typically held regionally between November 2025 and January 2026. The CCRT cannot inform or correspond with applicants rejected by the Committee.
