Gujarat Chief Minister has launched the Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Accident Insurance Scheme pilot project to ensure the safety of workers. Through this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to the workers of the state in the event of death or partial disability. So that they can get financial security in case of an accident. Keeping in mind the contribution and dedication of the workers, they will be insured by the Gujarat Government to provide security cover to the workers in the unorganized sector.
Gujarat has become the first state to launch this unique scheme for the benefit of laborers. This scheme has been started with the collaboration of the Department of Posts, India Post Payments Bank, and the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Workers registered on the e-shram portal will be given priority in this scheme. Through this scheme, about 1 lakh poor families will be able to get the benefits of Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Yojana within 60 days.
